TN MRB Assistant Surgeon Eligibility Criteria:
- Age Limit (As of July 1, 2024):
- Maximum 59 years for SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBC&DNCs, BCs, BCMs.
- Maximum 37 years for Others.
- Educational Qualifications:
- MBBS Degree.
- Must be a registered practitioner within the meaning of the Madras Medical Registration Act, 1914.

TN MRB Assistant Surgeon Selection Process:
- The question paper in the subject “Medical Sciences” will be set in English only and will contain 100 objective type questions. The questions will be at the standard of Under Graduate Level.
- There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers, and no oral test (interview) for the post.
- Minimum Qualifying Marks:
- Tamil Eligibility Test: 40% for SC / SCA / ST, 40% for Others.
- No oral test/interview for Assistant Surgeon posts.
- Subject-wise Maximum Marks:
- Tamil Language Eligibility Test (10th Standard Level): 50 Marks
- Computer-Based Test (Objective Type Single Paper Exam): 100 Marks
